OOC INFORMATION Name: ghost Contact: ghosthotel#0287 Age: 34 Other Characters: n/a CHARACTER INFORMATION Character Name: Sumire Yoshizawa Age: 15 Canon: Persona5 Royal Canon Point: Post-game, True Ending Character Information: Wikia. Personality: Sumire is, at first glance very polite and mild-tempered. She comes off as meek, having always lived in the shadow of her more confident older twin sister, Kasumi. While she has made great strides in coming out of her shell through the course of her character arc in the game, she still falls back on meekness when around people she isn't familiar with. She frequently doesn't speak up, unless it is in regard of something she is passionate about, or to defend someone she cares for. That isn't to say she's a pushover. Meek as she can be, Sumire carries on the wish she and her late sister aimed for-- to become world-renowned gymnasts, and she lets nothing stand in the way of maintaining that goal. While she can certainly be malleable, and is easily manipulated due to the traumatic loss of Kasumi, she can and has picked herself up out of dark places multiple times to proclaim who she is and what she stands for. Perhaps as a direct result of her determination to meet her goals, Sumire is fiercely loyal to anyone who supports her. This is most notable with the game's protagonist, who when he invites her to join the Phantom Thieves, she declines, but still makes her way into a Palace to help him at a time of strife. The protagonist is a huge supporting role in her life, both in accepting her when she introduces herself as Kasumi, not Sumire, and later helping her break out of that manipulated state and learn to feel comfortable as herself. Sumire has an unfortunate habit of assuming she is at fault for things. The most notable example of this is the death of her sister, Kasumi-- while in a sense she was partially responsible (stereotypical "had an argument and ran into traffic and was pushed out of the way of an oncoming vehicle" trope), Sumire took the guilt to a whole new level. Throughout the game, this crops up here and there where simple little things will go wrong and she will assume she is at fault, for her meekness or that she didn't try hard enough-- she is frequently put under a high level of stress and pressure to perform well as a gymnast, and when she doesn't she is quick to blame herself and feel guilty rather than immediately question the pressure she is being put under. While she has faced many hardships that have set her back in life, most notably Kasumi's death, Sumire has always been good at viewing the big picture. Her sagacity ties directly into her determination to fulfill her goals-- a determination which increased upon the loss of her sister, as she is now the sole Yoshizawa with the ability to fulfill that goal. As such, she keeps good tabs on her diet, her grades, and her extracurricular activities to ensure she is putting her best foot forward for her goals. Despite having the support of her family and those around her, classmates, friends and coaches alike, Sumire still habitually falls back into insecurity frequently. She was always the quieter between she and her sister, shy and with a more delicate style to her gymnastics and her overall self. While her sister never had anything bad to say of her, and in fact revered Sumire's graceful, gentle take on life and gymnastics, Sumire herself always felt she paled in comparison to Kasumi's ability. This rears its head again in the way she bonds with the protagonist, and she hides behind his support for a large portion of the game until she realizes she is stunting her own growth. Possibly most notably of all is Sumire's ability to persevere. She blamed herself so thoroughly for her sister's death that she spent a year so unwilling to admit to Kasumi's death she took on her personality and answered to her sister's name, but she broke out of it (with the help of some very good friends). She was manipulated by her therapist, taken from a horribly dark place of grief and mourning and told to take on Kasumi's moniker and mannerisms, that perhaps assuming her life and letting "Sumire" be the one who was lost would bring her happiness, and while she resisted being told she should be herself and move on, she eventually did. By the end of the game, she has lived years in her sister's shadow, lost her sister, blamed herself for her sister's loss to the point of becoming her sister..., And in the end she is carrying on Kasumi's legacy, sticking to their dream, and carrying it on all on her own, as Sumire. 5-10 Key Character Traits: + Mild + Determined + Loyal + Guilt Prone + Sagacious + Insecure + Steadfast Would you prefer a monster that FITS your character’s personality, CONFLICTS with it, EITHER, or opt for 100% RANDOMIZATION? Fits! Opt-Outs: Arachne, Pooka (solely bc Tanjiro was a Pooka), Lich, Waldgeist, Vampire Roleplay Sample:
